Minimally Invasive Chin and Jawline Enhancement

Jawline

The key to a beautiful face is balance. Did you know that a more prominent or projected chin can make your face look slimmer and your nose look smaller? The use of a little dermal filler can enhance the shape and size of the chin and jawline, restoring a sense of harmony and proportion to the face. Dermal filler can correct the appearance of an asymmetrical or pointy chin, help sharpen and define the jawline, and even disguise the look of jowls.

You may have been born with a smaller chin, or you may have lost some of the projection you once had due to age. As we get older, we lose bone and soft tissue in the chin, and our skin becomes slack; obscuring the distinction between the jawline and neck. Fat may also accumulate under the chin with age, causing loss of definition. You may be a candidate for Kybella, an injectable treatment that destroys small pockets of fat cells. This can be used in addition to jawline filler to give a more defined look.

Jawline

Ashley Pontenberg, ARNP-C, used a combination of Kybella and dermal filler to achieve this result.

Men and women alike benefit from these minimally invasive techniques to enhance their profile. A strong, chiseled jaw on a man is associated with strength and confidence. Our nurse practitioner, Ashley Pontenberg, can assess whether you’re a candidate for this type of treatment, and if so, give you a jawline you only ever dreamed of!

What is dermal filler and how does the treatment work?

Jawline

Most of the filler on the market today is made of hyaluronic acid, a substance that occurs naturally in our skin and helps keep it plump and hydrated. It has a gel-like consistency and is injected underneath the skin to restore volume, smooth out fine lines and wrinkles, or enhance contours of the face. The results achieved with this type of filler can last up to a year or two, but this varies based on several factors, including how long it takes your body to naturally absorb the hyaluronic acid. If for any reason you’re not happy with the result, there is an enzyme that can be used to dissolve these fillers.

After assessing your unique facial structure and anatomy, Ashley will devise the appropriate treatment plan for you. She’ll make sure you’re as comfortable as possible as she injects small amounts of dermal filler in several places either along the jawline or in the chin. This fills in the area from the inside out, causing the contour to change. If there is any loose skin along the jawline this helps to fill it out, making the area appear younger and rejuvenated.

Jawline

This patient of Ashley Pontenberg, ARNP-C, had dermal fillers injected to enhance the projection of her chin and refine her jawline.

The entire treatment takes about thirty minutes. After the injections you can resume normal daily activities. You’ll want to avoid rubbing or touching the treated area for some time and sleep with your head elevated for a few days.

You may experience some slight swelling after your treatment. This should subside over the next couple of days. Be sure to follow up with Ashley if you have any questions or concerns following your appointment.

Whether you desire a more defined jawline, a longer or rounder chin, or just want to find out if you could have greater facial balance, Ashley at Artistik Beauty can help. Call, email, or text her today!
